Returning from abroad, the eldest Sterling daughter, Caroline Sterling, is mistaken for Elliot Sterling's legal wife and humiliated by his lover, Penelope Blair. This exposes Elliot's betrayal of his wife Naomi Reed, who once saved his life. Failing to reason with her brother, Caroline teams up with Naomi to strip his power. Later, Penelope snatches and smashes a bracelet Naomi wanted. Caroline arrives, reveals Penelope's card is deactivated, and Penelope finally realizes who Caroline is. At the company, Caroline presents the will from the late Mrs. Sterling, proving she is the heir. She exposes Penelope's cousin for embezzlement and kicks them out. After Elliot loses everything, Penelope flees with the cash, finally making him realize his mistakes. Ultimately, Naomi forgives Elliot, and the Sterling family reunites.
